Bank Holiday Weekend

Author: jonathan  /  Category: Photography

Hi all,

Been busy over the Bank holiday weekend, really started Thursday evening at Morley Camera Club where I did a Strobism talk, that went well.

Good Friday, We took a drive to Skipton, what a horrible day (especially for photography!) – took the Twins on a Narrow Boat trip, that went down well (and they took plenty of photos)

Saturday – What can I say about Saturday, I spent Saturday on an extended course born from Photocamp, run by Mark Skeet and Phil Winterbourne (Both have some really insperational images for me in the portfolios) around Urban Portraiture, how and where, including approx 3hr of shooting 4 models – 1 session with Mark, then swapping for Phil the next. I would HIGHLY recommend going on this if you are interested in photography, and wanting to get into portraiture.

I have some 350 images to sift through, and homework was to get 3 of your best images done and sent to the group for each model (i.e. 12 images) so some work still to be done…

Sunday we took a trip to Bolton Abbey – and I got some great images, but can’t process them until I have done my UP2 work ;)

Monday we went to the Seaside, not a single piccie with the DSLR, but I did get some jelly fish images on the iPhone (just OoF)

Galleries and such to follow soon.

Well hello if you are reading this, I have not posted for a few weeks, because I have been busy, what have I been up to you say?

Well, I am preparing pictures from my last shoots, Did a series of family shoots last weekend, and done a model shoot middle of this last week, along with some event photography, so all in all I have a few shots to process. In addition to this, I am preparing for the next camera club meet, where I am going to do a session on Strobism.

I will put a new gallery up soon, and link it on the right of the page – in the mean time feel free to have a look around, or look at my flickr page.

Photocamp Winter {2009}

Author: jonathan  /  Category: General Interest, Photography

Been busy sorting one or two things out, specifically my shoots on 22nd March, which I am really looking forward to. And have been busy doing preperation for last weekends Photocamp, where is was doing a session on Photoshop Filters.  This will be published on the web soon, so I will link to it on here.

Went to ISL Group shoot last week, which was an interesting night, started out really good, and became a bit of a bun fight with a couple of key people rightly or wrongly taking a lions share of time (Not supposed to offend anyone with this, just being honest about how I felt)

Anyway, I am now concentrating on the couple of shoots I have lined up between now and the big shoot on the 22nd (which I am REALLY looking forward to).

I am still working on my Galleries, and trying to formalise them more, but simply finding time slipping away from me. Will try get them sorted as my priority this week. Again I will post here when updated.

Photo Shoot

Author: jonathan  /  Category: Photography

Had a couple of shoots this week (17th December) – Some images are on the web, Net-Model, ModelMayhem, and Purestorm.  I need to work on this site and the Gallery (Want to showcase my art/glamour images with some protection frm my day to day family / landscape images. So I have said it before, but I WILL be working on this in the coming weeks.

Planning to get a good number of shoots done in 2009, so if you want any pictures doing, please ask I am happy to undertake almost anything (would consider a wedding if you don’t mind 2 photographers for the price of one! as I would buddy up)

I have also recently done a shoot with two lovely ladies in Hull, along with twentyfour imaging. We are still working on the final images, once done, these will be added to the Gallery

Long time..no post

Well it has been a long time, sorry (mind i’m probably the only one reading this)

Well what have I been up to?

Since Photocamp {2008} I have done a group shoot at Roundhay Park, working closely with photographers: twentyfourimaging, digitalexcel and jogafoto mainly on models: Miss Plastik, Kewi, and Rachelle_UK. Got some good images.

The work on these has given me a template for my CD/DVD packaging, which I think is clean and clear, and I intend to re-use the design from now on, with slight colour tweaks depending on model etc.

I have done a shoot of a couple of friends of Rachelle_uk, in Hull – Natalie and Leanne, who were great sports given the cold day in late october, again we got some good images (though I have yet to finish 100% processing)

I am also still processing images from a shoot with My Niece and Nephew, they have about 25 images they like, and I am trying to get these just right, as this could lead to more work.

Whats on the plan?

1) Shoot in a derelict building – can’t say much more on this right now, but I am pretty excited about the prospects of this one.

2) Shoot in planning with a Harrogate model, but can’t say much on this until it’s firmed up

3) Got some EBAY triggers on the way (woohoo!)

I am considering giving away a photo shoot for Cildren in Need, but have as yet to work on the finer details of this also.

All in all, work is out there for aspirimg photographers, and I hope that I can keep on getting better.

PhotoCamp {2008} Leeds

Author: jonathan  /  Category: Photography

I am registered to attend PhotoCamp at Old Broadcasting House in Leeds 9th Sept. with the honor of presenting a ayer Mask session on Photoshop.  Looking forward to it, meeting local photographers, and hopefully expanding a bit of my knowledge.

Als looking to get myself on a C&G Photography course, I can notbeliev how difficult it seems to geta  college to take my money! – I have emailed all the local colleges that provide evening classes, with only 1 replying to me, and that was simply to send a prospectus (helpful, thanks!)

I’ll report on what happens, or doesn’t

Update

Author: admin  /  Category: Photography

Well for those (very few) that read this site, I have been a bit slack on the updates, just been really busy with one things and another, and to be honest a bit to tired to bother.

Anyway 2 important updates:

1) Photocamp 2008 is coming to Leeds soon, and looks like I will be presenting/taking a course on Layer Masks in Photoshop (which should be fun!) will be spending some time putting that together over next few days.

2) probably should be 1 for importance, I have created a lulu account now, and have my very own storefront with images for sale, print only or framed, for very reasonable prices.

3) I have some shots taken of Fiona Leigh in Castleford, but have yet to PP them, once done, they will be published on the glamour site, email for URL details

40D

Canon 40D

Finall took the plunge last week, and purchased myself a new EOS 40D body, from Jessops, who price matched with Park without to much of an issue.

First impressions: Well being i have looked at this camera body for a while, and having chance to test one for an evening, I have to say it is a great change from the EOS 350D I have moved from.  I still like the 350D, don’t get me wrong. There is something about the extra speed, resiliance, and general handlig of the 40D that I like.

I have taken some new pictures (obviousley) but not got around to putting them on the gallery.

With regard to the Gallery, I have seperated out the Glamour work, simply meaning, that the random images on here will be generally ok for all, not that the glamour images are not, I felt that it was a good idea.

Once I have replace the Images o the web, I will post.
