London Fashion Weekend – Spring/Summer 2010

Myself and David Rothera went to London Fashion weekend for Spring/Summer 2010. We had a great day, if a little busy!

Both of us getting more than 1000 pictures of the catwalk shows. whilst working on this, we had a sneak peak into Britains Next Top Model – keep your eyes peeled on the show, you might see some photographers you know appearing on there (with any luck)

Pictures will be on here in a seperate gallery as and when I get chance, and will post a link to Davids here also.

Well, the studio is coming along great. we have a model changing room built now, with some finishing touches only to add. Then we can get on with the kitchenette changes and the seating area layout. In the mean time we have lots of scope for shoots.

Up to now we have (between us) had 20 shoots in the studio, all of which giving pleasing results, to both client and the relevant photographers. It’s amazing how having your own space seems to help with the creative juices.  The ability to utilise the surroundings really help.

Well,I have not posted a while, but since mid December I have been working on a little project (Serenity Studios Ltd) with Daniel Richardson, and David Rothera.  We are now the proud owners of our own Studio space – at over 800Sq.Ft. we have lots of space, and nice features.

Tere is a new site also www.serenity-studios.co.uk dedicated to the Studio.  We will each continue to work on our own projects, but colaboration work in the Studio is also going to increase, and hopefully this will hel; us save money on studio rental, but increase our Studio use.

The business will also be offering Portraiture for individuals or Famalies at reasonable rates, certainly competing on quality with the likes of Venture.  Feel free to contact me for samples of our works.

We had a shoot (Myself, Daniel R, and David R) predominently based around ideas of bokeh and light, I took inspiration from Dustin Diaz on Flickr. He has some great images.

Anyway, I think we did a good job, with all 3 of us getting some great images.

American Snow Beauty

OK, so yes it’s been over done – but we had a shoot in the studio last week, before I headed out to Paris. It was mainly a Fashion shoot, with the aim to do a winter shot of some sort.

We eleced to do the American Beauty shoot again, but with Snow (fake snow – ala EBay – Thanks D.R.)

I think this worked well, I have yet to process the image, but the RAWs look OK so far.

Laura

We were in the Studio last night 10/11 with FoISL and Laura.

Laura is a lovely new model, she was great to work with had a good range of outfits, we concentrated on Fashin and then moved to a lower light fashion type shoot, with a specific pose in mind (which is in Post Processing)

However, this is a pose I like for some reason, but couldn’t get it to look quiet right (or haven’t been able to in the past) – but this really works I feel.

After the morning Fashion shoot, and a family shoot (which I have yet to process) myself, and Dave along with a few other reguars to theStudio shot Serena.

She was a great model to work with, we had a bit of a laugh, and tried to get something a bit different from the ‘normal’ group shoots. I hink it worked.

Well another weekend flown by…

Sunday went from Disaster to savedto Disaster and back to saved (Actually multiple times) – The model we had booked for a Fashion shoot cancelled at the last minute (VERY last minute)

So sat in the studio with no model, and a head full of ideas, along with Danny and Dave – we scouted for online models, and managed to secure Emma Collins for a 2hr shoot.

What a result – This is probably my fave of the set (though it’s close)

American Beauty

Had a shoot with 4-5 specific shots in mind, and some ideas came from conversations on the day, but this is my fave image (and One I have massively re-worked – yet to be posted)

Yes the shot has been done before, BUT, it’s a first for me, and the model, and we both love the end result (especially the no re-mastered version)

Well if you’re visiting this page, there is a good chance you know me. But I am going to be quiet on the photography front for a while, as I am going to be concentrating on a large IT project in Europe, yes spending a fair amount of time in Europe, how flash (anyone that does it knows it sounds much better than it really is!)

I will try boost my portfolio withsome Parisian shots thouh, and hopefully get a model involved if I can – if not will practice street photgraphy.

So updates might be a bit slow for a while (like you’ll notice – LOL)
